This November we're reminding everyone to BE BRIGHT, BE SEEN.
As the nights draw in and the clocks go back, it's more important than ever to make sure that everyone can see you when you're out and about. Light coloured clothing and reflective 'hi-viz' make it much easier for people to see you in the dark.
If you walk on unlit shared use paths, it is a good idea to wear a rear-facing red light so that anyone approaching on a bike or scooter can see you in plenty of time to give you lots of space as they pass.
If you cycle, it's a legal requirement to have a red rear and white front light between sunset and sunrise. However it's a good idea to use at least a rear light at all times. They improve visibility at any time of day.
Watch this space for an announcement soon about some dedicated Be Bright, Be Seen prizes!
For the whole of November, we'll be encouraging you to keep active by quadrupling the points on offer for walking, wheeling, running and riding. So every minute you clock up will earn you 4 BetterPoints to trade in for York Gift Cards or donate to charity. There'll be a weekly Refer a Friend prize draw too!
